Experience

8+ years across blockchain infrastructure, railway and defense.

  1. Jun 2025 — Present Remote

Blockchain Infrastructure Engineer · Production Reliability

    QuickNode

    • Work close to production blockchain infrastructure — RPC services, WebSockets, APIs, indexing, latency, rate limits and degraded-service scenarios.
    • Debug complex distributed-system behavior with scripts, logs, request/response analysis and controlled reproduction workflows.
    • Isolate root cause across integrations, infrastructure, network conditions and chain-specific execution; turn incidents into actionable engineering context.
    • Correlate metrics and logs with Grafana, VictoriaMetrics and VictoriaLogs to support production-reliability decisions.
  2. May 2022 — Jul 2024 Bilbao, Spain

    Embedded Software Engineer

    CAF

    • Developed C and Modern C++ software for safety-critical railway systems under strict reliability, timing, memory and certification constraints.
    • Owned a key embedded subsystem within a large-scale railway platform, from requirements implementation to integration validation.
    • Debugged and validated behavior across Linux / VxWorks environments — deployment, runtime analysis and constrained-system issues.
    • Led lab software integration: networking configuration, binary deployment, system testing and CI/CD with Jenkins and Git.
  3. Apr 2020 — Apr 2022 Madrid, Spain

    Software Development Engineer · DIRCM

    Indra

    • Built C/C++ software for DIRCM, an advanced aircraft countermeasure laser system — across VxWorks, Linux, SPI and DSP.
    • Designed, implemented and validated safety-critical modules under defense-grade quality standards and tight delivery deadlines.
    • Worked close to HW/SW integration, debugging embedded behavior with systems, integration and validation teams.
    • Supported Factory Acceptance Tests and subsystem certification through reviews, integration testing and validation evidence.
  4. Mar 2018 — Mar 2020 Madrid, Spain

Software Development Engineer · WSN / IoT

    Indra

    • Developed embedded and networked software for a train-integrity monitoring pilot using Wireless Sensor Networks and IoT.
    • Implemented C++ across VxWorks / Linux, with Python scripting and MQTT-based communication for system integration.
    • Supported prototype integration, debugging and field-oriented validation across software and networking.

Education B.Sc. Telecommunications Engineering — University of Málaga (2012–2017) · Advanced Degree in Telecom & Computer Systems — I.E.S. Mare Nostrum (2010–2012)

About Me

I'm Javier — a Telecommunications Engineer turned systems software specialist. For most of my career I've written modern C++ for environments where performance and correctness aren't optional: aircraft defense laser countermeasures at Indra, and safety-critical railway platforms at CAF.

That work made me obsess over latency, memory, concurrency and rigorous validation — the same things high-performance systems (think low-latency engines and order books) live and die by. Today I apply that mindset to production infrastructure at QuickNode, keeping distributed services fast and dependable at scale.
